Rae Cattach:
I wasn't exactly overweight but after years of training I felt I needed a challenge to shake me up, so I entered a 12-week challenge in 2004. Whilst I didn't win the challenge, I achieved so much more than I ever thought possible.. The next logical step for me in order to challenge myself further was to enter a Figure bodybuilding competition. I found a Coach, entered my first comp and the rest is history. Through both the 12-week challenge and my first couple of competitions, I logged my training, diet, struggles and triumphs in my Bodyblog. I was able to keep track of how I was feeling and what I was experiencing. The community at this website was just phenomenal and without a doubt, the support of the people here was really instrumental in achieving my goals. Everyone was genuinely interested in how each other were doing, and provided as much support and encouragement as they could. It saddened me when Bodyblog was suspended for a while, but I am very excited to see it has now been reborn! To this day I am still in contact with many of the Bodyblog friends I have made in many corners of the world. As of the beginning of 2009 I have entered 8 figure bodybuilding competitions, winning 3 and placing at 2 of them. It has become an all-consuming passion for me and is what gets me out of bed in the mornings (at 4.30am I might add... But you do what you have to do!!) I am glad that this Bodyblog exists in order to not only help me achieve my own goals, but to also encourage, support and assist other people in achieving theirs. I have learned a lot of lessons through this journey, some of them great, some of them downright hard, and hope to share them to make others journeys a bit easier. | |
